Description

The Borealis Taiga is a snowboard developed for freestyle. We are talking about a twin-tip with flat camber, offering maximum potential and playfulness for tricks. The construction relies on certified timber from sustainably managed forests, bio sourced glue and a bamboo top sheet instead of plastic, etc.

What is the program of the Borealis Taiga snowboard?

As already stated, the Borealis is a twin-tip, meaning a perfectly symmetrical board from nose to tail, which can be ridden both ways. It is ideal to ride switch a lot and have no limitation in terms of tricks. The flat camber provides forgiveness to prevent catching an edge when landing tricks. It retains confidence inspiring grip on groomed snow. Glide is good on the sides of runs and on slush at the bottom of the resort. Flex is dynamic yet playful, enough to send satisfying ollies but flexible enough for easy buttering and be comfortable on the jibs in the terrain park. Truly a freestyle-dedicated board.

Who is the Borealis Taiga snowboard for?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
