Description

Surf shaper Chris Christenson and Jeremy Jones, the great freeride figure and creator of Jones Snowboards, have been working together for several years now offering boards with an innovative shape for a unique riding experience. The Jones Mind Expander is a great example of this, offering incredible sensations in the snow, while remaining playful on all terrains.

What is the program of the Jones Mind Expander snowboard?

It does not go unnoticed with its very directional shape, which starts with a very large nose with a big rocker and then tapers to a tighter and more toned tail. The setback position of the feet accompanies this shape, which is ideal for curving and floating in powder. With an FSC certified Bamboo Surf Core wood core that offers responsiveness while remaining light and playful, the Mind Expander is really a board that's fun to ride, with which you can have fun slaloming between the trees and work on the originality of the lines by placing butters, presses and other small creative tricks. If its strong point is the fresh snow, it also rides very well on piste where it maintains its grip, even if it shows its limits on the shaded sides where the snow is a bit tiled. On the other hand, she retains her very playful and amusing temperament, which invites you to vary the curves as you wish and send a few freestyle tricks!

Who is the Jones Mind Expander snowboard intended for?

Accessible from the intermediate level, this model will delight a wide range of snowboarders up to the most experienced levels, who are looking for a "sensational" snowboard, perfect for enjoying the big snow conditions but also pleasant to ride on the slopes and the edges of the piste.

What are the main qualities of the Jones Mind Expander snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
