Description

The Afterblack model from K2 Snowboards offers a lot of options in freestyle thanks to its player flex and symmetrical shape, while maintaining solid skills on the piste thanks to a good stability and excellent edge hold.

What is the program of the K2 Afterblack snowboard?

The Afterblack is a pure twin-tip board with a classic camber with very little rocker on the spatulas, providing a very good grip even on snow that is a bit tiled. It's excellent for carving on the slopes, but it's also safe on the kickers in the snowpark. It is not too physically demanding, thanks to a flex that remains playful and allows you to have easily have fun doing presses. However, thanks to its carbon reinforcements placed crosswise at the level of the bindings, it maintains a good stability and reactivity from edge to edge. So you can take advantage of a board that's both fun to ride and fun to ride in the whole resort, piste, snowpark and edges of the piste!

Who is the K2 Afterblack snowboard designed for?

This model will please snowboarders looking for a playful and tonic board for freestyle fun all over the resort, but it will also suit a snowboarder who spends most of his time on the slopes and who is looking for a good compromise between performance and riding comfort.

What are the main qualities of the K2 Afterblack snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
