Alchemist is the magic potion that mixes the best ingredients that is the secret of the K2 brand. It features a Bambooyah Pro core integrating bamboo for an exceptional weight/power compromise, a Spectral Braid reinforcement all along the snowboard providing excellent torsional control for maximum stability, a SpaceGlass fiberglass insert that improves edge hold and strength, as well as a Carbon Power Fork reinforcement at the tail for maximum bounce at the end of the curve. Finally, the Carbon Infused 5 500 Sintered sole offers an excellent sliding quality and completes this already top-of-the-range snowboard.  

What is the program of the K2 Alchemist snowboard?  

The K2 Alchemist has everything you need for freeride or carving. Its construction allows you to have a board that is ultra-stable at high speed, very reactive in turns, that perfectly absorbs shocks and that does not vibrate. Its slightly tapered shape, the backward position of the binding inserts, as well as the directional camber with rockers in the front spatula makes it easy to ride on all types of terrain while offering excellent clearance in deep snow. It's truly a racing beast that allows you to draw aggressive lines when carving on the track as well as engage in technical off-piste riding in all types of snow.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
