The Nitro Alternator is an all-mountain freeride board, aimed at intermediate to advanced level snowboarders. With its directional shape and traditional camber, it performs well on groomers and in powder. You can pick a shorter size than what you’re used to riding, the board will still offer great support.

What is the Nitro Alternator snowboard made for?

The Alternator is an all-mountain board designed to offer great versatility for freeride and backcountry freestyle. Its Powerlite Core, made of poplar wood, combines lightness and performance. This construction makes the core light, with great handling and pop. The directional shape and traditional camber provide optimal manoeuvrability and reliable grip on groomers, while guaranteeing effective float in powder. The Speed Formula 2 sintered base offers smooth glide and speed, on any snow condition.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
