Splitboarding does not necessarily mean extreme high-altitude riding. You can also have fun casually hiking up medium height mountains, searching for beautiful spots and good pow in the backcountry. In this case, models such as the Nitro Nomad splitboard are perfectly suitable!

What is the program of the Nitro Nomad splitboard?

The Nomad splitboard offers a medium flex, balanced between power and accessibility. Ideal to enjoy effortlessly laps after laps and avoid pushing too hard after spending energy in the ascent. The directional tapered shape with setback stance and flat camber are efficient in pow, you can let the board float naturally. You retain secure grip for hardpack areas, but not enough for steep riding either! It remains perfectly appropriate for your first adventures away from the lifts. You can count on the reliability of this splitboard, notably with strong forged aluminium hooks, a robust extruded base, as well as grooves to attach your skins.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
