Description

The Nitro OG Team Guest Shaper Project is a snowboard designed by Nitro’s old-school veterans for riders who grew up on boards from the 2000s and want to recapture that spirit without sacrificing the benefits of today’s technology. A freestyle twin-tip with enough versatility to keep you from being stuck in the park all season.

What’s the deal with the Nitro OG Team Guest Shaper Project snowboard?

This board is built for freestyle, with a playground that extends far beyond the park: features, kickers, groomed runs, varied terrain—it’s all part of the package. The directional twin shape means the board is generally symmetrical, but with a very slight offset that provides a natural feel when riding forward while allowing you to ride switch without any hassle. Classic camber means the board is arched in the center, with both tips in contact with the snow. It requires a slightly more committed riding style, but it rewards you with pop, grip when carving, and precision. The result: a board that performs exceptionally well on kickers and excels on rails and features.

Who is the Nitro OG Team Guest Shaper Project snowboard designed for?

This board is designed for intermediate to advanced riders looking for a versatile freestyle board with a strong character, rooted in old-school snowboard culture.

  • Freestyle riders who want a responsive board on feature sets and kickers.

  • Riders who appreciate a relatively forgiving board that’s easy to handle in tricky situations.

  • Fans of the 2000s vibe who don’t want to miss out on modern construction technologies.

Best for: if you want a versatile freestyle board with character and pop.

Avoid this if: you’re primarily looking for a board geared toward big freeride or powder riding.

What are the main qualities of the Nitro OG Team Guest Shaper Project snowboard?

  • Pop

  • Rideability

  • Versatility

Is this board really effective when riding switch?

Yes. The twin-directional shape is designed to make riding switch feel natural and comfortable, without the usual compromises of a pure directional board. The slight offset is subtle enough not to interfere with riding in a reverse stance.

Is classic camber difficult to handle when trying to improve?

Classic camber requires a bit more effort than a rocker (a board curved in the opposite direction, which is more forgiving), but the board’s stiffness remains challenging without being punishing, leaving plenty of room to improve. It’s a board that forgives mistakes rather than amplifying them.

Can this board be used just as well on the slopes as in the park?

It performs well on the slopes thanks to the grip provided by the classic camber and its pronounced stiffness: lines are precise and carving remains accessible. Freestyle remains its main focus, but it’s no slouch on the slopes either.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
