Description

The Slash model from the American brand Nitro is a directional board designed primarily for curves, especially in fresh snow but also offering great performance on the track. With a wide shape, wider than a traditional board, it contributes to its improved flotation and delights snowboarders with wide feet who can now take turns without having their toes rubbing on the snow. 

What is the program of the Nitro Slash snowboard?  

The Slash has a tapered shape, with a round front tip and a generous rocker that allows you to effortlessly slide down the snow. The position of the feet set back also provides better flotation while ensuring very smooth curve entry whatever the terrain. It's perfect in good snow conditions, but it's also fun on the piste, where the classic camber in the centre of the board provides effective grip, while the progressive curve radius allows you to gain maximum speed in the turns. The Power Core 2 wood shell offers lots of responsiveness and provides stability when gaining speed. A board that allows you to ride fast and precise, for lightning-fast runs all over the field!

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
