The Volta from Nitro is a women’s splitboard designed to offer great sensations to experienced female freeriders looking for a model that is easy to ride and does not require too much energy. Its flex is balanced and its directional shape promotes easy turn initiations, to have fun off-piste.  

What is the program of the Nitro Volta splitboard?

Well-balanced between attack and riding comfort, the Volta from Nitro benefits from a medium flex that allows to ride without getting burning legs immediately, pretty useful after an ascent. Its directional shape with a slightly setback foot stance promotes natural lift in powder and allows to initiate turns with ease. The flat camber offers forgiveness on hardpack, while ensuring a smoother glide on fresh snow. This model also features forged aluminium hooks that ensure optimum locking of the board and we recommend getting the Nitro skins specifically designed for this model (sold separately on our site).

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
