Description

The Salomon Sickstick was developed by Austrian snowboarder Wolfgang Nyvelt, a member of the Salomon team. We love the shape and the perfect finish of this board, with a very directional shape, an original cut, and a beautiful wood veneer.

What is the Salomon Sickstick snowboard program?

The Salomon Sickstick is equipped with a Ghost Green Core wood shell offering a very good weight/performance ratio, as well as a very high-end Sintered EG sole for an exceptional gliding quality even on sticky snow. The firm flex provides a stable and precise board at high speed, while the setback position of the feet and the rockers with spatulas provide good maneuverability. The board is easy to place in curves and the turns follow each other well, even on a slightly technical slope. It goes without any problem from packed snow to powder, feeling at home as long as you put good pressure on the turns and pick up speed. So, whether you're carving, drawing lines in your resort's off-piste areas, or going freeriding far from the slopes, the Sickstick promises committed rides.

Who is the Sickstick snowboard designed for?

We recommend this model to experienced or expert snowboarders looking for a board they can ride throughout the resorts, both on and off-piste, as well as on big freeride off-piste.

What are the main qualities of the Salomon Sickstick snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
