Underbite, Tapered Underbite, Midbite and Volume Twin: specific designs for more performance
While most snowboards have a continuous edge line (the edge of the board), providing a uniform (or bland, some would say) grip, others use the edge as a way to give the snowboard even more personality and performance. This is the case with YES, which uses Underbite, Tapered Underbite, Midbite, and Volume Twin technologies to make snowboards perform even better in their respective programs.
Underbite : This specific cut is found on many Slash snowboards like the YES Basic, YES Typo and YES Emoticon. Very useful on piste and hard snow, it allows you to distribute the supports and acts as a power steering. For example, when you make a mistake while pushing like an ox on the back edge, it helps to reduce this effect, to keep control and to avoid zip steering.
Tapered Underbite : This particular cut is found on the Yes PYL and Yes Hybrid snowboards to offer very intuitive edge to edge transitions while maintaining exceptional stability and lots of grip.
Midbite : This special edge line that refines the center of the board is found on very freestyle models such as the YES Jackpot, the YES Standard, the YES Ghost, etc. It provides the responsiveness of a narrow board while keeping a nice width in nose and tail to be stable when pressing and receiving a kicker.
Volume Twin : Ideal for freestyle backcountry riding, this technology gives the front of the board more body to give you more lift in powder.
