Description

Inspired from a skateboard, the Pocket Knife is Amplid’s park-specific snowboard, super playful due to its shorter length. Its flex is just right, not too stiff not too soft, and offers a nice press-ability on rails and boxes with solid support when landing a jump. The hybrid-V camber features a rockered section between the bindings and sections of camber under the boots. This winning combination offers the best mix of forgiveness, agility and reactivity without compromising grip and control. The board’s easy to spin and you will appreciate the Abuse Base Technology enhancing the board’s durability. It’s capable to withstand repeated assaults common to a freestyle use and the most committed riders should see the rail break before the board. There’s also the notorious Jekyll & Hide geometry making the board more agile on all terrains.

What can the Amplid Pocket Knife snowboard do?

Nimble and lively, this Pocket Knife is going to get the freestyle crowd on its feet. It is capable of destroying every single park feature and then go to the streets and do the same with public benches. The board is a jibber, it climbs walls and have nose presses on lock. But more than jib board, the Pocket Knife deals with kickers more than well. Its poppy profile delivers powerful ollies and natural spins. You’ll also have a lot of fun working on your flatground tricks. Pivots and butters will have no more secrets to you. Note that this forgiving flex is also a good match for inexperienced riders looking for a catchfree ride.

Who is the Amplid Pocket Knife snowboard designed for?

Intermediate and advanced freestylers will find in the Pocket Knife the end of their quest. It is the perfect park board for jibbing endlessly and work on your tweaks. It’s also a good pick for beginners looking for a forgiving and confidence-inspiring snowboard to progress with.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
