Description

Amplid’s UNW8 is the high-end snowboard of the brand coming straight from the future. Modern design and advanced shape, the board is loaded with the latest technologies developped by the manufacturer to deliver the highest performance. The board is incredibly light thanks to its woodcore coupled with the HEXO2 tech which is a honeycomb structure replacing the wood in some strategic places. There are also carbon reinforcements enhancing the board’ stiffness and reactivity. Of course the 2017 UNW8 keeps its directional shape for the ultimate freeride performance.

It is a rocket, an aggressive blade designed to slay and lay trenches at warp speed. Offering unparalleled edge grip, the board rails through the turns with a ridiculous precision and links turns incredibly fast. The ultra responsive construction makes the board agile and powerful for unlimited freeride performance. It floats on the deep with a natural ease and slashes turns with style. If your thing is to drop off huge cornices and gap over cliffs and roads, no problem either. The UNW8 is a hardcore performer that’s going to give you a blast.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
