Description

The Borealis Artefact is a directional twin snowboard, comfortable to ride on various conditions. It has been improved to handle powder better, while keeping its versatility, manoeuvrability and balance between power and riding comfort.

What is the intended use of the Borealis Artefact snowboard?

The Artefact benefits from a symmetrical shape allowing to ride switch and has enough tail for tricks but with inserts positioned 2.5 cm toward the rear to improve control, manoeuvrability, as well as powder efficiency. Mentioning off-piste riding, it has rockers to absorb unevenness and the design of the tips improves float in pow-pow. Back on groomed runs, in case of unfavourable conditions in the backcountry, the turn radius and classic camber are meant to promote grip on hard snow. The board construction brings rebound in the turns and stability, while remaining not too demanding physically and flexible enough to throw butter tricks and be comfortable in the terrain park. Regarding freestyle, the pop is greatly appreciated thanks to the carbon inserts located in the tips.

Who is the Borealis Artefact snowboard for?

We recommend it as soon as the intermediate level, to snowboarders looking to progress on all aspects of riding, enjoy various styles and keep a good balance between performance/accessibility.

What are the main qualities of the Borealis Artefact?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
