Description

The Borealis takes with it a construction that skillfully blends performance and eco-responsible construction. Its blend of materials incorporates an Ultra-Light wood shell from sustainably managed forests, a natural bamboo topsheet for an added bounce while achieving a beautiful wood look, as well as fibre and carbon reinforcements to increase torsional rigidity while keeping the board very light. The entire board is assembled with a Greenpoxy resin that incorporates a high proportion of plant-based materials.

What is the programme of the Borealis Koi snowboard?

The Borealis Koi is a magnificent board, thanks to its wooden topsheet and its pure (and top-of-the-range for a super quality of glide) sole with a Koi carp design, as well as its directional shape concluded on a fish tail. Magnificent and efficient, as this shape offers great fluidity in curves and incredible lift in powder. This is particularly true thanks to the very long rocker in the front tip that ensures that you are always above the powder, while the classic camber and the stability of the construction allow you to ride strong on all lines, whether on the piste, in carving, or on a race between the pines. And it does all of this while maintaining a relatively easy manoeuvrability, smooth curve entry, and cushioning.

Who is the Borealis Koi snowboard intended for?

Accessible from the intermediate/confirmed level, the Koi is intended for snowboarders who enjoy winding lines, high-speed curves, carving and riding in powder snow. If you like to work on the style of your curves and increase your speed, the Koi is for you!

What are the main qualities of the Borealis Koi snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
