Description

The Custom Smalls is derived from one of the most popular snowboards in the catalogue, the Burton Custom. Adapted in terms of construction and dimensions to be able to meet the needs of young riders, the freestyle/all-mountain program is maintained, with playability and dynamism throughout the resort.

What is the program of the Burton Custom Smalls snowboard?

The Custom Smalls has a Super Fly wood shell, light, robust and with a medium flex that provides pop and dynamism, while keeping the board easy enough to ride and not too physically demanding. The shape is perfectly symmetrical, so the Custom Smalls can be ridden in switch as well as in regular and therefore offers all possible options in freestyle. Finally, it is equipped with a classic camber in the center and rockers on the sides, which provides a good grip on the piste and a correct lift in the small powder on the edges of the piste. In addition, this profile provides ollie pop and bounce during turns thanks to the camber section, while the rocker areas provide more fluidity in edge to edge transitions. So, it's a board that can be used to set the pace during descents and freestyle, while remaining accessible and comfortable to ride. The perfect model for fun that promotes technical progression!

Who is the Burton Custom Smalls snowboard for?

This model is designed for young intermediate to advanced snowboarders in need of a board that can evolve and be used in a variety of ways, allowing for a continued progression throughout the resort and discover the different facets of snowboarding.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
