The Custom X Flying V is a fairly specific model, taking the staple shape of the Burton Custom, but adding a hybrid Flying V camber and high-end construction. The Flying V camber offers great versatility and playability, while the lightweight and powerful carbon fibre reinforced wood core gives you more stability and responsiveness.  

What is the Burton Custom X Flying V snowboard program?  

The Burton Custom X Flying V is a beast of versatility. The Flying V technology mixes reverse camber and classic camber to allow you to ride all types of snow with great playability. Edge errors are rare and pivoting is fun. Irregularities are better absorbed and the board floats better. At the same time, we find a construction that boosts responsiveness and stability. With a wood core generously reinforced with carbon, you get more stability at high speeds and less vibrating tips. Finally, the directional twin shape offers a better ride and lift, while remaining fairly healthy in switch. With a perfect blend of playability, stability and versatility, the Custom X Flying V will be perfect for freestyle riding in any terrain, including backcountry.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
