Description

The Custom X Flying V is a high-end snowboard from Burton, inspired by the brand’s best-seller, the Burton Custom. This version has a construction reinforced by carbon fibre in addition to the glass fibre, as well as a different camber profile, called Flying V, that combines reverse and classic camber areas for more versatility and playfulness compared to a classic camber + rocker profile.

What is the program of the Burton Custom X Flying V snowboard?

The Custom X Flying V is a rather specific board, as it provides performance by using carbon, while offering a camber profile that aims to bring playfulness and forgiveness compared to a more traditional profile such as classic camber + rockers. The idea is to have a powerful and stable board allowing to gather speed without chattering, while benefiting from the Flying V camber to improve the floatability in powder and the playfulness/forgiveness on any terrain. Very useful for a backcountry freestyle program for instance. The directional twin shape, symmetrical from nose to tail with a setback foot stance, promotes the ability to turn and lift, while remaining perfectly comfortable switch for freestyle. This is a board with which you can ride fast in the entire resort, with a true thirst for freestyle in the terrain park or backcountry.

Who is the Burton Custom X Flying V snowboard for?

This model will suit advanced/expert snowboarders who want to ride various terrains, have performance on any type of snow while retaining forgiveness and playfulness to send tricks. You can picture it on the feet of a rider who loves to send heavy tricks in pow.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
