Description

The FT Hometown Hero, like all boards in the Family Tree series, is built to be a little more environmentally friendly than other Burton boards. In addition to the bio-sourced Super Sap Epoxy resin used on all Burton boards, there is also a sole made from recycled materials. Beyond the ecological aspect, this is a really high-end snowboard offering great performance.

What is the program of the Burton FT Hometown Hero snowboard?

The Hometown Hero is a fairly directional board, since the tail is 12 mm thinner than the nose, which leads to a natural lift in powder snow. Performance in deep snow is further enhanced by the setback foot position, which allows the nose to exit the snow effortlessly, while increasing control and ease of board placement in curves. The flex is fairly firm, without being too stiff, providing painless stability. The classic camber provides good grip on hard snow and allows you to take full advantage of the board's energy, with bounce in turns, high-speed stability and ollie pop.

Who is the Burton FT Hometown Hero snowboard for?

We recommend this model to experienced/expert snowboarders looking for a snowboard that will perform well on all types of snow, with which they can throw themselves into any descent and send themselves into turns, without getting into trouble as the Hometown Hero remains maneuverable and not excessively stiff.

What are the main qualities of the Burton FT Hometown Hero snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
