The Burton Family Tree series combines snowboards with specific shapes and technologies, as well as a construction that aims at being a little eco-friendlier. The Straight Chuter features a sole made from recycled materials, in addition to the plant-based glue used on all the brand's snowboards.  

What is the program of the Burton FT Straight Chuter snowboard?  

Well tapered, voluminous in the front and more condensed in the back, with the added advantage of a well setback foot position, the Straight Chutter has been designed in a very directional way. The idea is to provide maximum lift in powder and control in curves on all terrains. The goal is perfectly achieved and it is amazing how effortlessly the lift is carried out. On the other hand, it is still very easy to handle and you can easily enter curves, which does not prevent you from maintaining great stability at high speed thanks to the DragonFly wood shell and carbon reinforcements. Finally, the classic camber provides the necessary bounce and grip enabling it to fully engage in cut corners on the track for great carving sessions.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
