Description

Between its very explicit name and its ultra-directional shape with a large spatula on the front and a compact heel, as well as a very reclined foot position, the Powder Killer from the American brand DC leaves no room for doubt as to which terrain to use it on. Its favourite terrains are powder snow, runs between the pines and slashes in the fresh snow. However, you'll see that it's far from lagging behind on the slopes!

What is the program of the snowboard DC Powder Killer?

Developed above all for powder the Powder Killer is actually quite versatile in terms of snow. As regards to use, this remains a board made to carve the curve. The extremely reclined foot position offers lots of control and manoeuvrability with really smooth turn entries and even more so thanks to its flat/rocker camber section on the front of the board that facilitates edge to edge transitions on hard snow. Of course, the buoyancy is excellent in powder snow and off-piste riding is great in good conditions. However, a day when going off-piste is not possible will provide the opportunity to take advantage of the grip and bounce offered by its classic camber to go carving in style on the slopes. And good news, the flex is toned without being too stiff, allowing you to chain your descents.

Who is the DC Powder Killer snowboard for?

This model will delight experienced snowboarders or expert freeride riders looking for a board designed to take full advantage of the heavy snow conditions while also riding on the slopes.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
