Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The K2 Afterblack model is renowned for its ability to offer a variety of freestyle options thanks to its playful flex and symmetrical shape, while ensuring solid performance on groomers with excellent stability and impeccable edge hold.

What is the K2 Afterblack snowboard made for?

The Afterblack is a true twin-tip, featuring a pronounced traditional camber and very light rockers at the tips, ensuring optimal grip even on hard snow. This makes it an excellent choice for carving turns on groomers and increases your confidence on the jumps in the terrain park. Its flexibility allows for easy presses, while maintaining good stability and edge-to-edge response, thanks to its cross carbon reinforcements at the bindings. The result is a dynamic and enjoyable board to ride, ideal for having fun on groomers, in the terrain park, or in the side country.

Who is the K2 Afterblack snowboard aimed at?

The Afterblack is ideal for intermediate to advanced snowboarders looking for a playful and responsive board to thrive in freestyle across the entire resort. It will also suit snowboarders who spend most of their time on groomers and want to find the right balance between performance and riding comfort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
