Description

Powerful and versatile, the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Ii is an all-round freestyle snowboard designed for tall snowboarders and/or with large feet. It is available in a range of 7 lengths (from 157 to 173 cm) and 2 distinct widths (26.8 or 28.5 cm). Suitable for larger riders, it benefits from a sturdy construction with a HorsePower core.

What is the program of the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Ii snowboard?

The Skunk Ape is designed with an all-mountain shape, a rounded tail, slightly pointy nose as well as a slightly setback stance. Turn entries are facilitated and the board easily lifts in powder. Thanks to the hybrid camber which combines alternating areas of classic and reverse camber, you benefit from playfulness and improved floatability in powder. On groomers, it grips well, while being forgiving and able to easily ride on transformed snow. The HorsePower construction is rather stiff to promote great stability at high-speed and the energy it provides allows to ride powerfully and commit to the turns. Ideal to alternate between turns and tricks in the entire resort.

Who is the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Ii snowboard for?

This model is meant for larger advanced/expert riders who want a versatile board suited to their body and shoe size to have a blast in the entire resort. Sizes 157W, 161W, 169W and 172W are available in 26.8 width and sizes 170UW and 173UW in 28.5 width.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
