Description

The Lib Tech Skunk Ape is a powerful and versatile snowboard designed for tall and/or big footed snowboarders. It comes in 7 different lengths and 2 different widths: from 157 to 173cm for the length, and width comes in 26.8 cm or 28.5 cm. Bigger is better, so the construction is really solid with the HorsePower core from Lib Tech.
What is the program of the Lib Tech Skunk Ape snowboard?

The Skunk Ape has an all-mountain shape, with a slightly pointed nose and rounded tail and a slightly back foot position. This means you get an easier entry into the curve and a better exit from the powder, while maintaining a maximum level of ease in switch. Perfect for all-mountain skiing, where you need to alternate between turns and tricks throughout the resort. On the other hand, the hybrid camber which mixes inverted camber and classic camber provides efficiency and playability on all types of snow. It grips well on the slopes while remaining forgiving, plays well on transformed snow and has a better launch in powder. Finally, the HorsePower construction gives you all the stability you need to get up to speed, ride hard and engage in turns.

Who is the Lib Tech Skunk Ape snowboard for?

We recommend this model for tall, advanced or expert snowboarders looking for a versatile board that fits their size and shoe size, and that they can use to send throughout the resort. Sizes 157W, 161W, 169W and 172W are available in 26.8 width and sizes 170UW and 173UW in 28.5 width.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
