Description

The Santoku is a very versatile snowboard developed by Nitro. Capable to ride anywhere in the resort, combining great performances on piste with true ease in the terrain park, while also offering decent floatability in pow.

What is the program of the Nitro Santoku snowboard?

The Nitro Santoku features a substantial classic camber that provides very good grip on hardpack and allows to use its rebound in the turns. It is not physically demanding thanks to its medium flex, making it easy to ride and allowing to do some freestyle, no problem. The flex is perfect for flat ground tricks, rails etc. It is not sluggish either as it features carbon reinforcements that provide solid pop and energy feedback coming out of turns. To finish, the Santoku can also ride off the beaten tracks as the shape and width of the tips provide good lift, surprising for a twin-tip with classic camber!

Who is the Nitro Santoku snowboard for?

We recommend this board to advanced/expert snowboarders who want to have fun in the entire resort, descend at a good pace and shred the terrain park.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
