Description

The SMP from Nitro snowboards is an all-mountain/freeride oriented snowboard, with a slightly directional shape, inserts with 15 mm of setback, as well as a very versatile camber profile. All these elements provide true versatility, with a well-balanced flex between power and accessibility.

What is the program of the Nitro SMP snowboard?

The Nitro SMP is designed to facilitate your descents, particularly your turns, as its slightly tapered shape and setback foot stance provide more control and better turn initiation. The rocker areas at the tips also facilitates edge to edge transitions, while improving the glide in soft snow and powder. The classic camber section, at the centre of the board, provides the required grip on hardpack. Soft, snow, powder, hardpack and of course, groomed snow, you can tell the SMP is able to ride anywhere. With the last ingredient: its well-balanced flex, provided by a wood core reinforced by glass fibre. The SMP is truly a great board for various terrains and to progress.

Who is the Nitro SMP snowboard for?

This model will satisfy intermediate/advanced snowboarders who want to progress on every terrain and gradually lean toward a freeride-oriented riding style.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
