Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Palmer Burn is a multipurpose freeride snowboard made to ride fast on piste, get out in powder and keep a stable behavior when the terrain becomes more committed.

What is the Palmer Burn snowboard's program?

The Burn targets a freeride program with real presence in deep snow thanks to its directional shape and more buoyant nose. Its camber between the feet provides grip, pop and relaunch on piste, while the rockers in the spatula make it easy to get out of the way. Its rigid construction gives stability at high speed and allows you to push hard in the curves. It remains less jib or pure freestyle oriented, even if it retains enough response to pass some natural jumps.

Who is the Palmer Burn snowboard for?

Advanced to expert level. For physical riders who know how to hold an edge, load their supports and are looking for a reliable board to go fast, carve clean and enjoy powder days.

What are the main qualities of the Palmer Burn snowboard?

Powder

Stability

Grip

Does the Palmer Burn float well in powder?

Yes. Its directional shape, recessed inserts and pronounced rocker at the nose promote lift in deep snow.

Does the Burn hold up well on hardpack?

Yes. The classic camber between the feet provides solid grip and good relaunch in hard turns.

Is this board suitable for freestyle?

It can get through a few jumps thanks to its pop, but that's not its main terrain. It's primarily designed for freeride and committed riding.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
