Description

The Salomon Pulse snowboard is what is called a directional twin, meaning its shape is symmetrical, allowing to ride both in switch and regular, but the bindings are slightly positioned toward the back. With this type of shape, you get a versatile board, able to do some freestyle thanks to its symmetrical shape, while providing some ability to lift in powder and initiate turns because of its directional characteristic.

What is the program of the Salomon Pulse snowboard?

The Salomon Pulse is very enjoyable to ride, with a soft flex that is both forgiving and playful. Featuring a wood core reinforced by biaxial glass fibre it offers comfortable and rather stable edging. The flat camber helps to link turns easily thanks to more natural pivoting compared to classic camber, while retaining some grip in the middle of turns on hardpack. Its forgiving and flexible construction allows to reduce the risk of catching an edge, which prevents you from being sanctioned at any technical mistake. Very versatile, this snowboard works also off-spite, as its rockers allow to easily lift in powder, while the setback stance of the inserts helps you float over pow. Finally, the soft flex of the Pulse also allows to do some freestyle in the park, as its playful character helps you to send lots of tricks.

Who is the Salomon Pulse snowboard for?

Accessible from the beginner level, the Pulse snowboard has a forgiving behaviour allowing you to get confident easily, even if you are not used to snowboarding. But its versatile construction can also satisfy intermediate snowboarders looking above all to send tricks in the entire resort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
