Description

The Salomon Super 8 is an all-mountain/freeride snowboard with a qualitative construction, offering great performance while maintaining riding comfort. The dynamic wood shell is reinforced with carbon and flax, and there is also a Sintered sole offering a very good sliding quality.

What is the programme of the Salomon Super 8 snowboard?

The Super 8 has a directional shape, wider at the front than at the back, offering a natural lift on powder snow. The setback position of the binding inserts shifts the rider's weight to the rear, which also allows the board to float more easily on powder. This also improves control and makes it much easier to get into curves, whether in light or hard snow. The classic camber is well marked, combined with the qualities offered by the high-end construction, offering great carving skills with grip, bounce and stability. And the Super 8 is still fun to ride because it's not too stiff. A great board for carving nice curves and varying terrains.

Who is the Salomon Super 8 snowboard designed for?

This model is designed for intermediate/confirmed snowboarders looking to turn hard and improve speed, on and off-piste as well as on the slopes. It is a progressive board, ideal for someone looking to progress in carving or freeride. An expert snowboarder will also appreciate the good compromise between performance and comfort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
