Description

The Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero Split is a high-end splitboard that uses some of Burton's best technologies. It features a Dragonfly 600G wood core specially developed to meet the light weight requirements of splitboarding while developing the most power possible. It is reinforced by a sandwich construction using carbon fibre and its sole is made from a special wood.  

What is the program of the Burton FT Hometown Hero Split snowboard?  

With the FT Hometown Hero Split, you'll be able to experience new adventures at the edge of the ski area. This splitboard is light on ascents allowing you to make your climbs without difficulty. Its camber allows for a secure grip when climbing in conversion. Once the effort is done, enjoy your descents by taking advantage of the fluidity in curve offered by the directional shape and the position of the feet well set back. If you're in the woods, you'll find that this board is really easy to get off the ground and that the turns are particularly well linked. On less fresh conditions, the Hometown Hero Split offers all the grip and stability you need, allowing you to stay in control even on hardpacked snow and other challenging conditions. It is not an ultra-stiff board but it keeps you comfortable in the support.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
