Description

The Weston Backwoods is a high-performance splitboard, with a directional shape and a peachy flex. The wood core reinforced with triaxial fiberglass and carbon stringers provides good torsional rigidity and powerful rebound. As a result, this is a board that doesn't shake at high speeds and relaunches well in turns. At the same time, it retains a little longitudinal flex so as not to feel too physical in the legs. The board's directional shape and set-back foot position make for a really fast entry into corners, and the turns link up well whatever the terrain. The classic camber provides solid grip on hardpack, while lift-off is really easy even in deep powder. The Weston Backwoods splitboard's main qualities:

Stable

Manageable

Polyvalent

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
