1-Day Technical Backpack Buying Guide:
By definition, a large backpack (when empty) weighs more than a small pack, which means extra weight you'll have to carry all day. You'll often hear about volume, capacity, or liters: these terms all refer to the same thing and are measured in liters (l).
A backpack designed for daily use should therefore be: lightweight, compact, ergonomic, compressible, and well-designed. Its main features are comfort and stability. Pockets are usually quick and easy to access.
For snow use, current " Daily Use " backpacks allow you to carry your safety gear (shovel, probe) for freeride and ski touring outings. The daypack is therefore usually a versatile all-rounder: for sports, urban use, skiing/après-ski—thanks in particular to its compact size.
Thanks to its construction, this daypack is designed for walks, occasional short hikes, but can also be highly technical for adventures requiring more gear (freeride/mountain outings). However, it will always be limited in volume if you need to bring extra clothing, for example.
In this 1-day backpack category, you'll find models with a capacity ranging from 15 to about 30 liters.
