Oakley Fall Line: frameless performance with a cylindrical lens
The Fall Line is a model that combines the best of both worlds: it takes inspiration from the Line Miner’s cylindrical lens while adopting a rimless construction like the Flight Deck. Its wide frameless design maximizes your field of vision. The result is a pair of goggles with impressive panoramic vision, able to rival spherical models while maintaining the flat aesthetic of a cylindrical lens. Available in M and L sizes (and even XL in some recent editions), the Fall Line is well-suited to wider faces and integrates perfectly with helmets. Once again, Oakley has included the Ridgelock system for quick, secure lens changes (no air or snow intrusion once the lens is in place). Optically, the Fall Line is equipped with Oakley’s best Prizm lenses, available in a wide range of colours and categories to suit any condition. Terrain features are enhanced, optical comfort is top-notch, and you get a unique look on the slopes—a nod to riders who like to stand out with goggles that are both technical and stylish.
Prizm lenses: which colour for which light conditions?
Prizm lenses cover a broader range of use. As of now, there are 12 different PRIZM lens colours. In category 4, you’ll find the Black Iridium lens for extremely bright conditions. In category 3, the Dark Grey lens provides perfect protection on sunny days. Category 2 includes the bulk of the Oakley range, as these are the most versatile: Sapphire Iridium, Argon Iridium, Torch Iridium, Rose Gold Iridium, Sage Gold Iridium, and Garnet. The Pink, Iced Iridium, and Permission lenses are category 1. These three versions are most effective in overcast or snowy weather. Finally, the Clear lens in category 0 completes this wide collection, being completely clear for night use or extremely low light.
Finally, Oakley has added Iridium to create that mirror effect on the goggles, which reduces the amount of incoming light and adds even more versatility. Always at the cutting edge, Oakley developed its own machine to vapor-deposit Iridium directly into the material instead of applying it as a coating.
