Structure - Construction

  • Carbon Reinforced  :

Around the main core are the materials that fine-tune the performance of a ski. A dynamic carbon insert for our lightweight backcountry skis.

  • RENU Step Down Sidewall  :

In the heart of the ski there are different materials and essentially different kinds of wood that will determinate the behaviour of the ski. This poplar wood core is ideal for the powder, the all-mountain ski and the touring ski requiring strength and lightness.

  • Step down sidewall  :

Sidewalls affect how the ski dampens impacts and transmits power. We use four different types to suit different types of snow and skiing. The Step Down Sidewall features a symmetrical step on each end that’s stable, light and durable.

Rocker - Camber

  • Powder Rocker Tip  :

It is the most pronounced tip and tail rocker shape associated to a a camber underfoot. It delivers an incredible buoyancy and handiness in deep powder, crud snow and everything in between.

  • Bases  :

Our extruded bases offer a fast glide on all snow conditions, they are developed to attack on every terrains and easy to maintain.

  • HRZN Tech  :

HRZN Tech is the result of two years testing by Chris Benchetler and the Atomic Freeski product development team in Altenmarkt, Austria.

The aim was to create the ultimate design for playing in all types of powder. Having tried everything from shaved edges, to boat hulls, to totally new camber profiles, the eureka moment came by expanding the horizons of rocker. By blending an ABS sidewall construction with a revolutionary across-the-ski (horizontal) rocker, HRZN Tech adds 10% more surface area in the tip and tail without increasing swing weight. This encourages far better tracking through chop and crud, and less tip deflection – meaning increased stability, floatation and agility. This tip and tail design is set to reshape the future of powder skis.

  • Edge  :

    More resistant edges.

  • Topsheets  :

Composed by 50% of colza oil, our coatings are ultra light and extremely resistant.
