What MTB shorts should you choose?
Shorts are a key element when it comes to mountain bike riding. They guarantee your comfort and therefore, the enjoyment you get from your ride. While fore cross-country, riders use tight bib shorts, for trail, all mountain, enduro, DH and freeride most people choose to wear looser MTB shorts. Designed in durable and breathable fabrics, some of these pieces of MTB clothing feature a removable liner with a chamois pad. For downhill and freeride, the chamois padding is not useful, while for riding styles involving pedalling, padded under-shorts improve saddle comfort. To be able to tackle a light rain shower or splashes, MTB shorts generally have a water repellent finish. Beyond an inseam length allowing to cover the top of knee guards, most shorts also feature zip pockets enabling you to carry small items such as cereal bars, gels, etc.
