Description

Equipped with Pieps technology, which has long demonstrated its expertise in DVA, Black Diamond's BD Recon BT model is extremely reliable. Designed with 3 antennas and a maximum range of 60 m, it is highly effective for rescuing an avalanche victim or for being rescued yourself. Its ergonomic housing is made of a material that's very easy to grip. It is delivered with a carrying harness which is usually placed as a shoulder strap close to the body, above the 2nd layer for greater comfort.

Black Diamond's BD Recon BT avalanche transceiver features a self-test mode which as soon as it starts up ensures that it is working properly. It also benefits from the group control function, which allows you to check that the DVA of each of your teammates is operational.

The multi-victim marking function is used in the event that several people find themselves trapped under the same avalanche. Pictograms corresponding to the signals emitted by each victim's DVA appear on your screen. Once the position of a 1st victim has been determined, and while your team-mates are working to free it, the Victim Marking function enables you to move on to the search for the next person, and so on.

The BD Recon BT also benefits from Auto-Search-to-Send functionality. Disabled by default, it can be activated in the DVA settings from your smartphone via the Pieps app. The device then automatically switches from search mode to transmit mode after a certain amount of time without movement, which is essential in the case of a secondary avalanche if you are in turn buried.
