Description

The Pieps Powder Bt avalanche beacon is intuitive and efficient. As soon as you turn it on, it performs a routine self-check of the hardware and software. This transceiver allows to do a group check to make sure no one forgot to turn on their devices. In Group Check mode, the Powder Bt switches to close range reception to only detect the devices located nearby. Once the tests are done, simply put the Pieps beacon in its neoprene holster and wear it comfortably close to your body.  

What to do in case of an avalanche? 

If someone is trapped under an avalanche, switch to search mode. To do so, unlock the safety switch (marked by a lock) and push the right button. The Power Bt offers a range of 60 m. The LCD screen displays the direction and distance and guides you toward the victim. As soon as the victim is identified, a pictogram representing the buried person will show on up on screen. In case of multiple victims, multiple pictograms are displayed, for each victim. 

The Pieps Powder Bt benefits from the Auto-Search-to-Send feature that automatically switches the beacon from search to send mode if you remain in the same spot for a certain amount of time. This function is very useful in case you get buried by a follow up avalanche. 

The Powder Bt relies on 3 AAA batteries for a claimed running time of 300 h. It can also be powered by 3 lithium batteries (not included).
