Presentation of the Barryvox 2 DVA

The Barryvox 2 is a compact, intuitive, and ultra-high-performance avalanche victim detector from Mammut. With its 70 m range and numerous functions, it promises maximum safety in the mountains. Equipped with a 3-antenna receiver, it features advanced functionalities such as continuous and startup self-test, Rescue-SEND function, and automatic switch to transmission in case of a second avalanche. The high-resolution screen and the vocal and sound guidance system provide clear instructions to effectively direct rescuers to victims buried under the avalanche. Thanks to the Mammut smartphone app, this beacon can be easily updated. It also allows for configuration of settings and provides access to training simulations to be ready to react in case of an emergency.

What are the advantages of the Barryvox 2?

This transceiver stands out with a search width of 70 m and interference management features, thus optimising its performance even in the presence of other electronic devices. The self-test function ensures the proper functioning of the device at startup and continuously. The Auto-Select function guides rescuers to the strongest or closest signal in case of multiple burials. The SafeLock function prevents accidental activation of the Search mode. The Rescue-SEND function ensures the safety of the rescuer who is conducting the search with his beacon. Indeed, if a second avalanche occurs and this rescuer is trapped under the snow, the position is immediately sent to the devices of the other rescuers remaining on the surface. In this way, they can immediately start searching.

What to do in case of an avalanche?

To find an avalanche victim, simply switch to reception mode. The Barryvox 2 guides you accurately with its automatic guidance and vocal and sound indications, in addition to the instructions displayed on the display. From the 3 m zone, a fine search is launched to precisely locate the victim, followed by probing and shovelling to free the buried person.

How does the Barryvox 2 work in multi-victim mode?

The Barryvox 2 offers the Auto-Select function to guide the searcher to the strongest or closest signal. The reverse direction function avoids 180-degree search errors, and the deep burial mode ensures a fine and precise search as soon as the victim is detected at more than 3 m.

The Alugator Light snow shovel perfectly combines strength and lightness. Made of reinforced anodized aluminium, its sharp blade integrates fixing holes to attach a rescue sled. The oval telescopic handle is quick to assemble. It features a symmetrical T-handle, optimizing energy transfer. Thanks to the automatic lock, assembly is quick and precise. Its compact blade allows you to carry the shovel in your backpack. The 240 probe assembles very quickly and is easy to use to find an avalanche victim as quickly as possible. Made of aluminium, it combines stability and lightness. It provides clear and precise information about the depth. The drop-shaped tip facilitates probing by minimizing the necessary effort. Its locking system is manageable, even with gloves or mittens. Once folded, the probe measures only 38 cm. Once in its case, it slips into the safety compartment of your backpack.
