Aku is a family-run company whose historic headquarters is in Montebelluna. This small town in north-eastern Italy has a strong history of manufacturingmountain shoes and is considered today as the world’s capital for sport footwear. Among the big names to have established R&D departments or manufacturing units there, are Fila, Lotto, Diadora, Scarpa, Head, Atomic, Tecnica, Nike, Time, Lange, RaidLight, … While Aku started out as a small operation, the brand is now mass producing. AKU also offers 2 distinct lines: one for men and the other for women. Thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane you can find on AKU’shiking boots, you can now face any weather condition possible. Rain, snow, mud, with AKU your feet remain dry thanks to the Gore Tex membrane. This breathable membrane prevents water from getting inside while letting your foot breath. For example, this is the case of the Trekker Lite 3 GTX, a model available in a men’s version and women’s version, but also a in Wide version for the joy of hikers with wider feet. This lightweight and ultra-versatile model will take you virtually everywhere from spring to autumn.

AKU offers a line of approach shoes such as the Rock Dfs GTX, technical shoes that are as comfortable for short climbing sections or via ferrata. These models come with a dual lacing system (DFS) which consists of a classic lace for hiking and a second more powerful quick lacing system reaching all the way to the sole for total support and perfect precision in technical sections. In addition, you get a Vibram outsole with powerful grip making these models ideal all-terrain shoes.
