Monte Goldman founded Eastern Canvas Products in Boston, in 1952. At the time, the company manufactured bags and equipment for the US military. The brand only became known to the general public under the name Eastpak from 1976 onwards, when Mark Goldman, the son of the founder joined the company. He’s the person behind the brand’s most iconic backpack, the Padded Pack’R, a shear success with students that met its peak during the 90’s. And you can still see it in colleges and universities all over the world to this day. The secret behind this success? Eastpak rucksacks are built to withstand everything you throw at them and the brand is not shy about it: its products are guaranteed for 30 years!
