YES snowboards is a brand founded in 2009 by three professional snowboarders: David Carrier-Porcheron, known as DCP, Romain de Marchi and JP Solberg. After riding together at the highest level, the three riders set out to develop snowboards that better reflected their own vision of the sport: boards designed with extensive rider input, a strong emphasis on freestyle and shapes that break away from conventional standards. At Glisshop, you will find a selection of YES snowboards, including freestyle and all-mountain models such as the Airmaster and Cream Halldor.

UnderBite and MidBite: why does YES refine its effective edge?

YES has become particularly well known for technologies that alter the shape of the effective edge rather than retaining a perfectly continuous sidecut.

UnderBite modifies the sidecut by creating inward sections around the bindings. This geometry redistributes pressure along the edge to make turn initiation easier and improve grip throughout the turn.

MidBite reduces the board's width between the bindings while retaining more width towards the nose and tail. The narrower waist promotes quick edge-to-edge transitions, while the wider sections beneath and beyond the feet provide a stable platform for take-offs and landings.

YES has also developed other variations in shape and edge geometry across its collections. These technologies differ between models and are selected according to the performance characteristics intended for each board.

YES Airmaster: freestyle performance across the whole resort

The YES Airmaster is designed for intermediate to advanced snowboarders who want a strong freestyle focus without being confined to the terrain park. Its camber provides support underfoot and plenty of pop, while its shape delivers balanced handling on-piste and when riding switch.

YES Cream Halldor: a more dynamic approach to freestyle

The YES Cream Halldor is also geared towards all-mountain freestyle, but with a more dynamic character. It prioritises pop, response and decisive edge engagement for riders who enjoy hitting features and making the most of natural terrain as much as carving groomers.

Airmaster Xtrm Fridge 3D: greater support and precision

The Airmaster Xtrm Fridge 3D takes the Airmaster concept towards more demanding riding. Its reinforced construction and 3D shape are aimed at snowboarders seeking additional support as speed increases, whether laying into powerful turns or taking off and landing jumps.

Airmaster or Cream Halldor: which should you choose?

Both models have a strong freestyle bias, but their characters differ. The Airmaster is better suited to riders looking for a versatile and relatively accessible freestyle board, whereas the Cream Halldor favours a livelier, more explosive ride.

The Airmaster Xtrm Fridge 3D sits another level above in terms of support and the commitment it demands. It is intended more for riders who drive hard through turns and jumps and want a snowboard that remains precise as the pace picks up.

YES Snowboards: a brand founded by riders

YES was founded in 2009 by DCP, Romain de Marchi and JP Solberg, three snowboarders who were already renowned for their freestyle, backcountry and freeride riding. Their goal was to play a direct role in board development rather than being limited to sponsored-rider duties.

This background helps explain YES's positioning: its boards are not simply organised into rigid categories. The brand has consistently explored shapes, edge geometry, volume distribution and profiles to achieve different performance characteristics for different riding styles.

YES has since begun a new chapter by joining forces with Lobster Snowboards and NOW Bindings. Nevertheless, the brand retains its snowboard-focused approach, with an emphasis on freestyle and product development directly influenced by riders.

Why is freestyle so important to YES?

Freestyle has been part of the brand's identity since its inception, but at YES it is not limited to terrain park rails and kickers. The brand's shapes are often designed to let riders play with natural terrain, ride switch, carry speed on-piste and make creative use of side hits.

This approach explains why many YES snowboards sit at the crossroads between freestyle and all-mountain rather than fitting into a single category. Choosing the right model therefore depends less on a label and more on its flex, shape, camber and the type of ride you are looking for.
