Description

Of prime importance when ski touring, binding crampons improve your safety. Climbing skins can show their limitations on steep slopes, as well as hardpack or icy snow. Without replacing proper mountaineering crampons, binding crampons improve your grip to keep progressing on your skis. The time comes to get off the skis when encountering ice, rocks, or simply too steep of a gradient.

To prevent the crampons from rubbing against the sidewalls, it’s crucial to pick a version that’s wider than your skis’ waist. A few millimetres of clearance each side are required.

p>The 1X2 Mtn Backland G100 from Atomic, here in its 100 mm wide version, is an extremely practical model to help you climb steep slopes or when the snow is very icy more easily. It provides optimal grip for secure ascents. It can be easily mounted and removed without having to take off your skis.
