Description

Binding crampons are an essential piece of gear for your safety when ski touring. They improve your grip when climbing skins are not enough because of the steepness of the slope or the snow conditions. On hardpack or icy snow, binding crampons allow you to keep progressing on your skis. However, they aren’t not an alternative to proper mountaineering crampons on ice and can’t be used on rocks.

Regarding the choice of width, make sure to pick a version wider than your skis at the waist, so that the crampons clear the sidewalls. You need a few millimetres on each side.

p>The 1X2 Mtn Backland G90 from Atomic, here in its 90 mm wide version, is an extremely practical model to help you climb steep slopes or when the snow is very icy more easily. It provides optimal grip for secure ascents. It can be easily mounted and removed without having to take off your skis. This pair is compatible with Atomic's Backland and Salomon’s MTN Summit bindings.
