The Active Skin is the entry level skin ski in the Madshus range, a technically accessible model meant for a leisure use or for beginners.  

What are the characteristics of the Madshus Active Skin nordic ski? 

Featuring a wooden core (Paulownia) the Active Skin shows its cards with this robust and reassuring construction. Such a structure adds weight to the ski, but mostly it makes it more solid and consistent under feet. The aim is to give to skiers using it the feeling of being in control of the ski and not to have skis that go their own way. The job is done, the ski is very easy to guide through technical sections. Regarding the grip, the Mashus Mix Nylon/Mohair skin ensures an easy and powerful grip. When it comes to the mounting plates, like the rest of the Mashus range we offer, it comes with Rottefella Move 3.0 plates, suitable only for Rottefella bindings. Nice additional feature, it is possible to fit bindings with the Move system, this offers the possibility to move the bindings front to back without the need to unfix. Far from being a useless gimmick, it changes the ski’s behaviour for real. When moving the block to the front, it gives more grip, or when moving it back, more glide. This can prove really useful for long climbs or descents or for endless flat sections.

It is a very good ski for beginners because of its forgiving and reassuring characteristics, it can also be suited to a leisurely, casual use.
