Description
The X-IUM model celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2020, this ski has never stopped evolving since the original model. It is the basis of the behaviour and DNA of the brand's racing skis which have now replaced it. Today the X-IUM is an excellent ski for sports enthusiasts looking for a dynamic ski that is particularly pleasant in terms of sensations.
What are the characteristics of the Rossignol X-IUM Skating IFP cross-country ski?
Unlike the WCS and Premium models, the X-IUM does not have an ABS Supra Edge, all its character lies in the adjustment of its camber. As with most Rossignol skis, the X-IUM has a fantastic dynamism at the end of each thrust. It owes this to a long-proven construction, a Nomex honeycomb shell sandwiched between two thin fibreglass panels. The results on snow are very satisfying, as the ski shows great character without requiring too much physical effort. One of the strong points of this X-IUM is the K 7000 sole, which is of the same quality as that found on the Premium model. It ensures very good glide, especially with its cold multi-purpose structure, developed for the most common conditions, between 0 and -6°C. Very reactive underfoot, this model is also very docile underfoot providing the skier with time to prolong their gliding phases. Equipped with IFP mounting plates, it can be fitted exclusively with the Turnamic bindings. It is compatible with the NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards. The X-IUM is a historic ski from the Rossignol brand, and has been involved in a number of exploits in the past. Over time, its evolution has made it a more docile and easier to learn ski. This opens it up to many different types of skiers.
Who is the Rossignol X-IUM Skating IFP cross-country ski intended for?
With a construction resulting from race development and a very high-quality sole, one would think that this ski is intended for very good skiers and competitors. This may have been true in the past, but today the X-IUM has evolved towards tolerance and is open to many more skiers. To give a very clear answer, for us this model is a very good choice for skiers looking to actively get into practice with a dynamic and tolerant ski that allows them to progress over the long term.
