All premium Smith ski goggles are available with ChromaPop lenses. Incorporating this advanced ChromaPop technology places them in a price range, as with all I/O models featuring interchangeable lenses. Below that, you’ll find a full range of more classic lenses, still of excellent quality, as is the hallmark of Smith Optics, a global leader in eyewear.
This patented Smith ChromaPop technology greatly enhances visual comfort: improved clarity, better terrain definition, and optimised natural colours. It allows you to distinguish the three colours—green, blue, and red—more clearly without blending them, boosting contrast on all surfaces beyond normal human capability.
ChromaPop therefore delivers more definition, more detail, and higher contrast across a broader range of light conditions, which is especially useful when the weather changes.
Smith Optics ChromaPop Lens Tint Options
Smith Optics offers several ChromaPop lenses divided into three weather condition categories. ChromaPop Storm lenses enhance contrast in overcast or snowy weather. In contrast, ChromaPop Sun lenses effectively reduce glare on bright sunny days. For mixed and unsettled conditions, both cloudy and sunny, ChromaPop Everyday lenses offer the widest usage range. This category also includes a photochromic lens, the Pink Flash, with a VLT between 30% and 50%, which can be complemented with a bright sun lens or a snow lens to ski in all conditions with just one frame and two interchangeable lenses. For non-ChromaPop lenses, the same three-category light condition system applies, but with less versatility: bright sun, variable light, or snow conditions, with the option of photochromic performance via the Photochromic Red Sensor lens or polarisation via the Polarized Pink Copper lens.
