The Grigri + Gris is a belay device from Petzl, ideal for beginners as it offers lots of assistance and is simple to use and features two belaying modes and an anti-panic handle.

Description
The Petzl Grigri + belay device offers an extra degree of assistance compared to the famous Petzl Grigri. The Grigri + is also an assisted braking belay device, but also features an anti-panic handle and various functions which set it apart from his little brother. This belay device is particularly suited to beginners, intensive uses, instructors teaching groups, etc.
The anti-panic feature is meant to bock the device and therefore the rope. This function engages when the belayer pulls too hard on the handle, for example when lowering a top roping climber.
In addition to this anti-panic handle, the Petzl Grigri + is also innovative by offering two belaying modes: lead and top rope. The spring tensions varies in these two modes, allowing in top rope mode to take slack in more easily to improve belaying comfort. The top rope mode can be locked if need be.
While the Grigri + is compatible with any 8.5 to 11 mm diameter dynamic single rope, it is particularly tuned for diameters between 8.9 and 10.5 mm.
