The Bliz S003 Mips ski helmet ticks plenty of boxes: In-Mold construction, MIPS technology and a weight of just 300 g. For a helmet at this price point, the inclusion of MIPS is a real advantage, as it is far from standard in this price range. The fixed AirFlow ventilation is ideal for skiers who do not need to fine-tune airflow according to the conditions.

The In-Mold construction, which fuses the outer shell and EPS foam into a single unit, provides a good stiffness-to-weight ratio and reliable durability for recreational use. The dial adjustment system allows the fit to be precisely tailored to your head, while the adjustable chin strap helps keep the helmet securely in place. The lack of adjustable ventilation is its most notable limitation: in warm weather or during intense activity, airflow remains constant, with no option to close the vents. The goggle clip and included microfibre carry bag are welcome details at this price point.

Does MIPS really make a difference at this price?

Yes: the MIPS system adds a low-friction layer between the head and the helmet to help dissipate some of the energy generated by rotational impacts, providing a level of protection that many helmets at this price still do not offer.
