Description

Meindl’s Himalaya Mfs men’s trekking boots are made of leather. They are known for their durability, provided your regularly apply an appropriate grease. In addition to the water repellent leather, they feature a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane, the goal being to keep your feet dry while letting the sweat evaporate. 

The stiffness of this model allows to endeavour long, technical and difficult treks in altitude. Sure, this pair can be used for short hikes, however trails without technical difficulties are not its favourite terrain. It can be worn when carrying a large load, potentially heavy. Thanks to the notch at the heels, it can receive hybrid crampons for snow or ice in altitude.  

The Meindl Himalaya Mfs benefits from the DiGAfix lacing system which wraps the upper around the foot instep with self-blocking hooks. This differentiated lacing system between the forefoot and the ankle aims at preventing unwanted pressure points by allowing to lock the heel in the boot. The foot does not move in the ascents and especially in the descents. This way, the toes do not bump against the tip of the boot.  

Reinforced by a rand, protecting the entire foot at 360°, for example in a scree or thorns, this boot from Meindl is also very comfortable to wear thanks to the MFS memory foam wrapped around the malleolus. When it comes to grip, the Himalaya features a Multigriff Vibram sole piece. It promotes a natural gait. Additional grip on the entire surface of the sole offers perfect purchase. It is worth noting that this model can be resoled if the rubber is worn out in a few years.
