The IGN 3D Map of the Monts d'Auvergne provides a relief view of a large part of the Auvergne region, with the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park in its entirety at its center. It provides a single-glance overview of the region’s major volcanic ranges and plateaus: the Chaîne des Puys, the Monts Dore including the Puy de Sancy, the Cézallier, the Artense, and the Monts du Cantal—particularly around the Plomb du Cantal and the Puy Mary.

The area depicted also extends eastward toward the Livradois-Forez and as far as the northern part of the Margeride Mountains. Measuring 80 x 113 cm, this map provides a broad enough overview to situate the mountain ranges within their geographic context, from the plains to the major landforms.
